Yoga Retreat Hostess

Lakshmi Devi - yogini, healer, and heart-centered soul, has been working with her intuitive gifts for most of her life.

After awakening to spirit in high school 17 years ago, she began a life-long study of yoga and meditation. As she approached her late twenties, she decided to follow her bliss and begin the pursuit of a career in service to others. She has since become a 200 hour certified yoga instructor, pranic healer, and visionary craniosacral therapist. Her gentle, loving and non-judgmental support allows for those she works with to feel comfortable and at peace.

Lakshmi is dedicated to being of service to the highest good of others and herself in all her work, and is eternally grateful for the opportunity to be a conduit for spirit in sessions. She has been initiated by many great healers and teachers along her journey, including Mata Amritananda Mayi aka "Amma," Shiva Das, David Newman aka "Durga Das", Bhagavan Das, Mana, and Ed Zadlo aka "Premanada Acharya" and joyfully shares her experience with all.

Lakshmi finds pure pleasure in connecting with nature. Her desire for travel and world exploration started when she was young and has taken her from the Caribbean Islands to Italy. From ATV tours to horseback riding and silent hikes, Lakshmi luxuriates in every opportunity. She has chosen to never hold back from having amazing experiences and this zest for life has served her very well.

Lakshmi loves life and enjoys co-creating adventurous, soulful, and fun retreats for people around the World. Meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures has been one of her greatest teachers and she is passionate about learning our differences and inspired by the life-force that joins us all.

For Lakshmi, every moment is a once in a lifetime journey.

Yoga Retreat Host

George Levendis - chef, life enthusiast and adventurer was born with an undying thirst for knowledge and experience. His desire to quench that thirst has led him on a many a magical journey.

With more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry George has been exposed to a variety of cultures through cuisine. His passion for different flavors allowed his career to blossom quickly and by the age of 21 he held the prestigious titles of 'Executive Chef' and 'Chef de Cuisine'. The New York Times has dubbed his meals "sexy, hip, and desirable".

A Greek, George specializes in Mediterranean food, but is well-versed in American-Bistro, Mexican, Italian, Southwest, French, and Pacific cuisine. In the last few years he discovered a desire to work with vegetarian, vegan, and raw foods and now incorporates these passions into his daily life.

Through food and his love of history, George has connected with many cultures. He has made it his life's mission to explore the planet and is determined to leave no stone unturned. His travels have led him to historic landmarks, breathtaking vistas, and blissful moments.

In his native Greece, he visited the Acropolis, the Temple of Poseidon, the Great Tumulose, and the ancient City of Dion. He has been to mountain-top monasteries in Materia, attended the world fair in Thessaloniki, worked the farm land in Katerini, and climbed the summit Mytikas at Mount Olympus.

His travels have taken him to Istanbul, Turkey, Amsterdam, Holland and Germany. He has witnessed the wonder of Iguazu Falls in Brazil, snorkeled the barrier reefs in Belize, zip-lined through the jungles of Jamaica and celebrated Oktoberfest in Nuremberg.

For George, every journey is an adventure. Visit Chef George's website!

"Wow! Chef George is an icon of creativity! From the imaginative preparations and culminations of flavor that he uses in his cooking to the unique way he incorporates that into his body and mind alignment techniques, nourishing the body to support growth in his healing practices! He and Lakshmi are a team that truly assist in personal expansion and transformation; providing the building blocks and tools in a delicious, creative, and enlightening way! As people, they have made a practice of healthy body/healthy mind,so as professionals, they are able to share their amazing and uplifting lifestyle with visitors and friends to guide them and support them on their journey! Live in light, love, and health! Thank you Chef George and Lakshmi for the experience and knowledge that I now implement in my daily life! I have been inspired!"

- Robert Lucas, Clinical Hypnotherapist

"I found Lakshmi to be an excellent yoga teacher. I had tried a couple of yoga classes previously but never stuck with them as they were too fast paced and focused on flexibility and endurance. Lakshmi's classes were very different. She encouraged me to listen to my body and only do what felt comfortable. The exercises were very gentle yet extremely powerful. It was undoubtedly the best yoga lesson I ever had. My body felt energised yet relaxed. I found Lakshmi to be a wonderful teacher, encouraging, compassionate and supportive. I highly recommend her as a yoga teacher. I wish we lived closer so I could attend her classes on a regular basis."

- Deidre Kavanagh, Holistic Nutritionist

"What can I say about traveling with George? There is only one thing I could say. There is no one else I would rather have next to me in a situation that required mind body and spirit rolled into one. Every trip he's planned has every facet figured out from start to finish. He knows everything about the places he visits, from festivals, local bars, best places to eat, hikes, adventure excursions and beaches. There are few people that I trust completely in my life and George is on that very short list. Many times he has pushed me to have a better time than I would have had by myself and to stop and see the beauty in relaxation and personal growth through travel. There is no one I would recommend traveling with more. His insight, cooking, and attention to detail is second to none."

- C. Grossmann

"Lakshmi's yoga class left me feeling free and energized. It was exactly what I needed! Her process is gentle and focused on knowing and honoring your body and experience. Although it was gentle, it still presented me with opportunities to challenge myself. It was the perfect balance. Thank you Lakshmi!"

-Jenifer D, Teacher

"You want George as your tour guide. I met him when my friend, Paul, and I traveled to Greece and decided to hike Mt Olympus. It's definitely not a novice hike (despite the pictures of children who have climbed it!), but my friend and I were determined to do it. We teamed up with George to get to the summit, which was the best decision we made on our trip. I was immediately impressed by his friendliness, encouragement, and confidence--which in turn made me more confident despite really intimidating parts of the climb. I'm not afraid of heights but there were some scary drop-offs that made me freeze, and George was incredibly kind about it, helping me get past it with positive encouragement and even giving me his walking stick (a must for these climbs, I didn't know) for peace of mind. I ended up making it to the third-highest summit, while Paul and George made it to the tallest one. Bottom line: we wouldn't have made it had it not been for George. Paul and I thanked our lucky stars that we met him and continued to rave about him after what was the most memorable and rewarding part of our trip."

- Jill - San Francisco, CA

"I started taking Lakshmi's class in search of a new way to deal with my MS. After only a few classes, I was able to walk short distances without my cane. I had not done that in years! Lakshmi was kind and considerate and helped me make adjustments when there were postures that didn't work for me. Her class helped me renew my faith in my body."

- Debbie C, Nurse Practitioner

"Over the years I have journeyed across North America with George. I can say from experience that traveling with George is not like traveling with other people. George always finds a way off the beaten path and on to his own adventure. He's an accomplished chef, a world traveler and an all around great person. We've shared many great times together and I look forward to the many trips that lie ahead."

- Steve Wolf
